O&G Forum 2019; 29: 19 - 23 ORIGINAL respondents; an attempt to counter this was made by including Ap- pelsbosch and Estcourt Hospitals which do not belong to the uMgu- ngundlovu District. Conclusion This study show that successful community service in O&G practice was linked with successful knowledge and surgical training acquired during internship training program. It showed that the CSMOs who had more practical experience had more confidence to performmore procedures and could deal with the complications better. Improving the regulation of the internship training programme, by having spe- cific goals to attain, will ensure an even better quality of doctors who are better equipped to manage a various spectrum of patients during their community service.
